Our action plan

Our action plan reflects our dedication to being a responsible business and the commitments that underpin all our activities. It defines success based upon actual performance, be that at point of handover or in use. It embraces the latest industry best practice as has flexibility built in to allow for future modifications and advances in thinking.

Reducing carbon

We use an innovative carbon calculation tool, Carbonica to measure whole life carbon emissions at the building design, construction and entire lifecycle stages. It enables us to pinpoint exactly where carbon savings can be made and ensures we are making environmentally friendly decisions based on meaningful and robust data.

A responsible group of businesses

As a part of the Morgan Sindall group of companies, we’re proud to share our wider group sustainability initiatives that protect the environment in different ways across the UK.

Growing natural capital

The first, a partnership with Blenheim Estate in Oxfordshire, is creating nine new woodlands, planting more than a quarter of a million trees to transform the landscape. The Group will help fund, design and create the woodlands, in collaboration with Cotswolds-based forestry company, Nicholsons.

Restoring wetlands

Morgan Sindall Group is working with RSPB to restore 54 hectares of wetlands for wildlife, climate and people at their Lakenheath Fen reserve in Norfolk. The project will expand the reserve and allow habitat and wildlife to flourish, whilst reducing carbon emissions and making the reserve a thriving, vibrant space for visitors.

Peatland conservation

Morgan Sindall Group is working with North Pennines AONB and Yorkshire Peat Partnership to fund peatland conservation and restoration in the uplands of the North of England. Restoration of the Great North Bog will in time avoid annual carbon losses estimated at 3.7m tonnes per year, reducing UK peatland emissions by almost 20%.
