Our communities

Urban regeneration isn’t just about bricks and mortar, it’s about creating special places that benefit a community economically, physically and socially. We work closely with communities to understand local needs and opportunities to leave a positive, long-lasting legacy.

Social value doesn’t start and end with construction, it begins the moment we create new partnerships, as well as our colleagues and supply chain too. All our colleagues are passionate about delivering schemes that benefit our communities and we work closely with them to make that happen.

All our activities are centred around inclusivity, vibrancy and community.

We work closely with local groups, charities, residents and the workforce to make our schemes places where you can live, work and relax.

There are always opportunities to harness the wealth of talent in our towns and cities to provide employment and training opportunities that drive the local economy, and ultimately enable us to deliver our schemes.in a more sustainable way.

How does it work?

We’ve developed four key components, to make sure we maximise our social value output. They are…

Each development has a Social Value Strategy, which is tailored to each individual community, our positive social value contributions are categorised into six key areas…

Social value doesn’t start and end with construction, it begins the moment we create new partnerships, initiate a scheme and bring together our teams and supply chain too. All our colleagues are passionate about delivering schemes that benefit our communities and we work closely with them to make that happen.

The social value outputs from our projects are captured and measured using our custom-built Social Value Bank tool. This will enable us to quantify and qualify the total social value created through the pre, during and post-construction stages of a project. It will also place a value to aspects including public-realm creation, the provision of community facilities, sustainable transport infrastructure, community events and the delivery of affordable housing.

Once the development is completed and the final stages of the Social Value Strategy have been implemented then each project will produce a detailed case study capturing all of the value generated by the scheme.
