Muse schemes shortlisted for three RICS Awards
Two Muse schemes have been shortlisted across three categories and two regions in this year’s Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) Awards.
Muse’s flagship industrial scheme, Logic Leeds, has been shortlisted in the ‘Commercial’ category for the Yorkshire and Humber regional awards. The scheme is located within Yorkshire’s Aire Valley Enterprise Zone and has planning consent for up to 1.6 million sq ft of industrial and distribution development. Current occupiers include Amazon, John Lewis and electronics giant Premier Farnell.
A deal has recently completed with Aberdeen Standard Investments for the forward-funding of a further 361,000 sq ft distribution unit, with a pre-let agreed with a high profile global occupier.
Coed Pella, the new civic offices for Conwy County Borough Council, has been shortlisted for the Wales regional awards in the ‘Regeneration’ and ‘Design Through Innovation’ categories.
The new 100,000 sq ft, BREEAM Excellent building in Colwyn Bay is home to around 800 employees and has replaced up to 13 existing buildings, helping to maximise efficiency for the Council and well as significantly contributing to the overall regeneration of the town centre.
Matt Crompton, joint managing director at Muse Developments, said: “The RICS Awards are highly respected throughout the industry, so we are delighted to be shortlisted in three regional categories this year.
“It’s great news that Logic Leeds and Coed Pella have both been recognised as leading developments in their respective regions, so fingers crossed for the award ceremonies in May.”
The winners of the Wales regional heat will be announced at an award ceremony on Wednesday 1 May in Cardiff, with the winners of the Yorkshire region announced on Friday 17 May in Leeds.
Regional winners will go through to the RICS Awards 2019 Grand Final in London on the 8 November at the Royal Lancaster Hotel.
