Muse receives BCO outstanding contribution award
Muse Developments has received the first ever Regional Committee Chair’s Award at the British Council for Offices (BCO) Northern Awards ceremony held at the Lowry Hotel on Wednesday 5th April.
The new award is an opportunity to recognise an outstanding contribution to the property industry in the northern region. The winner could be a project, a company or an individual – or a combination of all three. Not eligible for entries, this special award is discretionary and is chosen by the Chair of the Committee following consultation with other BCO members.
During his welcome speech at the event, Stephen Frood, the BCO’s Northern Chair, said: “I spent a lot of time considering what has taken place in our region in recent years and all the time I was thinking I kept coming back to someone who was in my view a clear and deserving winner.
“We went through some pretty tough times here in the North during the years of the recession but Muse excelled in those difficult times and completed some outstanding buildings in non-core locations. They completed new office projects in Wakefield, Doncaster, Liverpool, and Blackpool as well as Stockton on Tees in the North East. In recent years they have completed further excellent schemes in Leeds, Stockport, Salford and Chester.”
Matt Crompton, joint managing director at Muse Developments, said: “We are extremely honoured to receive this special award. The BCO is a highly respected institution with exacting standards and so I feel very proud that Muse is very first recipient of the Regional Committee Chair’s Award.
“We are committed to delivering the very best, sustainable and inspiring work places, so it means a lot to have that recognised by the BCO. Delivering these developments is always a team effort though, so I’d like to thank our partners, consultants and occupiers for the role they’ve all played in delivering excellent offices across the region.”
