Muse in double Insider North West win
Muse Developments has retained its ‘Developer of the Year’ title, as well as taking home the spoils in the Regeneration category for their Salford Central scheme at this year’s 21st Insider North West Property Awards.
Dubbed the ‘property Oscars’, over 1,000 leading industry figures from across the North West gathered at Manchester Central with this year’s compere, Vernon Kaye, to celebrate the sector’s success over the last 12 months.
In the Developer of the Year category, Muse beat stiff competition to take home the gold for an unprecedented fifth time in seven years. Muse took top spot after judges were impressed with the company’s wide spread of high-quality mixed-use regeneration across the region.
In the Regeneration category, Salford Central, which is being delivered by The English Cities Fund – a joint venture between Muse, Legal & General and Homes England – received the award due to reaching several milestones in 2018, with more in the pipeline for 2019.
Phil Mayall, regional director at Muse Developments, was delighted with the win. He said: “We are very proud to win back to back Developer of the Year titles. This prestigious accolade recognises our commitment to our partners, to the towns and cities we serve in the North West, and importantly, showcases the hard work of our regional team.
“The Regeneration award for our Salford Central scheme is gratefully received on behalf of our colleagues at The English Cities Fund and partners at Salford City Council. Together, we continue to bring life and vitality back to a once neglected part of the city.
“Our North West region is moving from strength to strength, and we look forward to continuing that momentum over the next 12 months, as we contribute further to the success of the region.”
Following a record number of entries, Muse had their Stockport Exchange scheme shortlisted in the Regeneration category, along with the 600+ Stanley Street car park at New Bailey shortlisted for the Design Excellence award.
A spokesperson from Insider said: “Muse made a significant contribution to regeneration and development in the North West in 2018, with 11 major developments on site at Salford, Stockport, and Warrington. Together with its partners, Muse is also progressing schemes in the Wirral, Chester, Manchester Victoria, Blackpool and Bolton. A major milestone was reached in 2018 with the opening of the new Stanley Street carpark at New Bailey, the start on-site of Two New Bailey, and the pre-letting of Three New Bailey to HMRC.”
Over the past two decades, the Insider Property Awards North West has become the go-to commercial property event in the North West. More than 1,000 people attend each year, with the biggest names in property development gathering to celebrate their successes and the success of the region.
