Muse agrees deal with BrewDog for new UK distribution centre at Eurocentral
BrewDog's new UK distribution centre is the latest leading business coming to Eurocentral Business Park in Lanarkshire following agreement with one of the UK’s leading developers, Muse Developments.
The independent craft beer company has purchased the 129,000 sq ft ‘Vertex’ building, which has been designed and built to meet the demands of modern distribution operations and will provide BrewDog with a new opportunity to grow the business after a highly successful 2017.
BrewDog has fitted a full refrigeration system into the Vertex unit, which has been dubbed the Hop Hub, on the site which sits on the M8 motorway between Glasgow and Edinburgh and the deal completes the latest stage of development at Eurocentral by Muse.
Stephen Turner, regional director, Scotland, at Muse Developments said the business was now looking at developing another phase of speculative building at Eurocentral - this time with a range of units from 20,000 – 55,000 sq ft.
“We are all aware of how challenging the marketplace has been in the commercial property sector over the past few years but deals like this, and the interest we have from organisations willing to work with us on speculative projects, provides us with real optimism for the future.
“Eurocentral really works for those who make the investment in time to take full advantage of its potential and by looking a smaller bespoke building sizes we believe we are in tune with the market trends within the sector.”
Muse Developments has invested c£158 million at Eurocentral since 1993 and delivered in excess of 1.5million sq ft of commercial property space. Current Eurocentral occupiers include Amazon, DHL; Wincanton; Eddie Stobart, Warburtons; XPO Logistics, News International, Lidl, Gist and Stapleton’s Tyres.
Commercial property agents CBRE and Ryden acted on behalf of Muse Developments at Eurocentral.
