Millbay’s latest development Quadrant Quay sold out
The award-winning latest phase of development at Millbay, in Plymouth, has matched the critical acclaim for its design with commercial success – completely selling out within six months of completion.
Quadrant Quay’s stunning contemporary looks, high-quality specification and waterfront location proved hugely popular with home buyers with 55 of the 92 open-market units (60%) sold/reserved off-plan and the development now fully sold.
Quadrant Quay is Millbay’s third major residential phase, occupying a key site on the regeneration area’s eastern edge and providing an important link between Millbay, its neighbouring communities and wider city.
It has already scooped the title of Residential Development of the Year at the 2015 Insider Property Awards South West and was recently announced on the shortlist for the RICS South West Awards 2016 in the residential category and in the Michelmores Property Awards for Residential Project of the Year (41 units and over).
The wider Millbay regeneration scheme is an exciting mix of residential, leisure, business and retail development, with high quality public spaces and direct access to the waterfront. Its lead developer English Cities Fund (ECf) is a joint venture between Muse Developments, Legal and General and the Homes and Communities Agency.
Duncan Cumberland, Development Director for Muse Developments, said: “We’re really pleased with the success of Quadrant Quay and the recognition it has received from both homebuyers and awards judges for its innovative design, high quality finishes and important role in bringing forward Millbay as an exciting new residential and leisure destination.
“Following the success of Quadrant Quay we have secured ECf Board approval for the next phase of development at Millbay which is expected to start on site later this year, subject to planning.”
Considerable progress has already been made in delivering the Millbay vision, with over £90m of a planned £200m invested in the area. Millbay now has over 400 new homes, new businesses, the new 1,000-pupil Plymouth School of Creative Arts, 171-berth King Point Marina and the successful Dock Restaurant, all contributing to a busy and vibrant local community.
