Marischal Square scoops top property award

Muse Developments has picked up a prestigious Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors award for its £107m Marischal Square development in Aberdeen.

Judged by a panel of property experts, the annual Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors’ Regeneration Award is presented to a new development which has made ‘exceptional improvements to urban, rural or costal areas’.

Developed in partnership with Aberdeen City Council and Aviva Investors, Marischal Square has transformed a key location at the heart of Aberdeen, creating a vibrant new mixed-use quarter which includes Grade ‘A’ office space, a hotel, cafes, restaurants and civic space, along with public access, landscaping and public realm improvements.

Marriott’s Residence Inn and Mackie’s of Scotland opened in November 2017 and are trading well; All Bar One, Prezzo and Costa opened in March 2018, soon to be joined by Italian restaurant chain, Tony Macaroni.

Stephen Turner, Regional Director, Scotland, at Muse Developments, was delighted with the win. He said: “To win this award is a great achievement for everyone involved in the Marischal Square development.

“All at Muse, Aberdeen City Council and Aviva are committed to the ongoing regeneration of Aberdeen by breathing new life into the city centre”
