Bristol’s Wapping Wharf scoops accolade
Phase one of Wapping Wharf in Bristol was named South West residential development of the year at Insider’s annual property awards.
Held at the Bristol Marriott Hotel, Insider’s South West Property Awards 2016 honoured a range of schemes, professionals and developers from across the region.
The judges said: “The high quality design of Wapping Wharf caught the collective eye of the judges. The exciting range of retail, food and beverage units in this regeneration project have created a vibrant community with a great atmosphere.”
Wapping Wharf is one of Bristol’s most significant development schemes and the final piece of the jigsaw that will complete the regeneration of the floating harbour.
Phase one of the project, which completed in spring 2016, has created a new quarter for the city, featuring high quality homes as well as a strong focus on independent retail, providing a real sense of place and community.
Collaboration between developers Umberslade and Muse Developments, the Homes and Communities Agency, Sovereign and architects Alec French, together with Bristol City Council, enabled the successful delivery of phase one.
