Brentwood Development Partnership moves forward as plans approved

Maple Close

Brentwood Development Partnership’s intent to transform the borough took a step forward recently as plans were approved by Brentwood Borough Council on two schemes at Maple Close and Seven Arches Road.

The applications are part of the early sites for regeneration through the innovative partnership – a joint venture between Brentwood Borough Council and Muse Developments – which will look to bring forward up to £1bn of development activity over the next 30 years.

The scheme at 1-2 Seven Arches Road comprises the removal of the vacant Registry office and delivery of a three-storey residential building comprising a mix of high quality one- and two-bedroom apartments.

The proposed development has taken careful consideration to the character of the local area, with particular reference to villa style apartment blocks in the vicinity. The scheme has been carefully designed to respect the existing character of the area and inspired by local architecture such as the Brentwood High School nearby. We have taken care to consider the amenity of local residents while making an efficient use of previously developed land within a sustainable urban location for new homes.

The Maple Close scheme will redevelop an underused garage site into nine affordable family homes. To achieve this Maple Hall will be replaced with a new community hall with dedicated play space and parking to provide fantastic new facilities for local residents.

Andy Howell, partnership manager at Brentwood Development Partnership, said: “It’s great that the partnership plans have been approved to bring forward our two first schemes that’ll drive growth and opportunities to benefit the Brentwood community.

“The team is working tirelessly to create schemes that repurpose underused areas, blending Brentwood’s heritage and its future, to create innovative spaces where people can live work and relax. We’re looking forward to the next stage of our journey to build a bright future together in Brentwood.”
