Brentford Lock West shortlisted for New London Award
The second phase of Waterside Places’ Brentford Lock West development has been shortlisted in the housing category of the New London Awards 2019.
The New London Awards recognise the very best in architecture, planning and development in the capital, including both new and proposed projects across all sectors of the built environment, selected by an international expert jury.
Designed by architects Mae as a contemporary reinterpretation of the warehouses that formerly occupied the area, the development includes 157 new apartments and townhouses along the banks of the Grand Union Canal.
Brentford Lock West is a development by Waterside Places – a joint venture between Muse Developments and the Canal & River Trust.
James Stockdale, development manager at Waterside Places said: “Following hot on the heels of the scheme’s success at the RIBA London Awards, this is more fantastic news. Brentford Lock West is an exemplar partnership project, which has created much-needed homes and made a substantial contribution to the ongoing regeneration of the local area.”
The winners will be announced at the NLA annual lunch, taking place on Wednesday 3 July at the Guildhall.
In conjunction with the London Festival of Architecture, the public are invited to select their favourite from the shortlist for the People’s Choice Award. To vote for Brentford Lock West click here before Thursday 20 June.
