Our wider Your New Town Hall scheme - being delivered in partnership with Lambeth Council - has rejuvenated Lambeth’s Grade II listed Town Hall, preserving its features and assembly rooms, while making it more accessible to the community. The borough’s new 120,000 sq ft civic building has also been delivered, which has reduced the council’s office estate from 14 buildings to two, and saves the council £4.5m per year. The restoration of the locally listed Ivor House provided 26 private apartments and 11,400 sq ft of ground floor and basement restaurant/ retail space. Ivor House has been fully refurbished to enhance its unique features and ensuring its long-term use. Hambrook House was demolished to make way for a new building, providing 48 affordable and 46 private apartments and one 1,800 sq ft retail unit. Notting Hill Housing, one of London’s leading housing associations owns and manages the affordable homes. The new homes were available as 34 social rented units and 14 shared ownership.
The final phase of the scheme is currently underway and will deliver 74 homes with 40% affordable, alongside a new home for the Lambeth Archives at ground-floor and basement levels.
