Barbirolli Square, Manchester

Total Value £100M
Duration 6Y

Located at Great Bridgewater Street - a landmark destination in Manchester - Barbirolli Square has been transformed from an unsurfaced overspill car park into the city’s main legal district, and a cultural extension of the city centre. Barbirolli Square has made a lasting legacy on the Manchester landscape as we broke away from traditional office design, creating a series of buildings with large, open floorplates – the first of their kind in the city - which served as a catalyst for commercial expansion in the area.

During our six-year regeneration, in partnership with Manchester City Council, we brought forward 200,000 sq ft of high-quality office space in two polished granite buildings, with restaurant/bar space and over 200 basement car parking spaces. The project has also delivered a major international concert hall and a new leisure destination on the banks of the refurbished canal basin.
