Project Description

This landmark development is regenerating the town centre with new leisure and civic buildings and town centre homes. The project has also delivered high quality public realm in the town centre and created a new destination to complement the existing shopping and market areas.

The first phase, which was completed in 2013, includes new 157,500 sq ft civic offices, a state of the art performance venue called ‘Cast’, a new public square and a refurbished 850-space multi-storey car park. 

54 new homes at ‘The Gables’ are now complete and a second phase is under construction. Contemporary in design and constructed using traditional materials, homes at ‘The Gables’ are designed to have low running costs and maintenance needs.

The CCQ project is supported financially by the European Union, as part of the European Regional Development Fund’s support for the region’s economic development.

The BREEAM Excellent civic offices have been designed to be highly sustainable, providing low running costs and reducing carbon emissions by up to 32%.

The CCQ is part of a wider renaissance plan to regenerate Doncaster, complementing improvements already under way on the Waterfront, Frenchgate and Lakeside and creating more than 1,500 permanent jobs.
